Many of us work from home in some form or another. Whether it’s a full time job from your own home, or just a part-time work from home gig, the office desk is a place where you spend most of your time — so why not decorate it to make it feel like home? There are dozens of ways to spruce up the space and make it more inviting, but one of my favorites is by adding a home office desk organizer.
Decorating your office desk with a home office desk organizer can help keep everything in order, especially if you have a lot of paper or folders that will have to live on the desk for long periods of time. It also helps to organize all of your stuff when you sit down to work (especially if you’re doing work from home). Plus, I love having a little bit of color and texture in my workspace, which makes me less likely to zone out while working.
Whether you’re looking at a small or large desk, there are plenty of options available online and in stores to get the job done. Here’s how to choose the right desk organizer for your needs.
Size Matters
The first thing you need to think about when looking for an organizer is the size of your desk. The bigger the desk, the easier it will be to create a beautiful home office desk decor. If you have a huge desk, you can easily stack books and magazines on top of each other to give yourself some height.
If yours is smaller, though, don’t worry — you can still find organizers that will fit on it! Some of my favorite ones include a rolling file cabinet, a floating file drawer, and even a magnetic storage tray.
Color Is Everything
Next, decide what kind of color scheme you want to go with in your office decor. Do you prefer bold colors like red and orange, or do you lean towards neutrals like white and gray? Once you pick the colors you want to use, you can begin shopping for the right organizers to match them. You can find some ideas below.
For example, if you want a black and white theme in your office, you might consider going with a black filing cabinet, white drawers, and black shelving underneath, as well as a black lamp. Or, if you want a colorful look, try incorporating red cabinets, bright blue drawers, and yellow shelves. Either way, you can always customize your home office desk decor further by picking up some accessories like plants, framed art, and decorative pillows.
Office Organizers Are Everywhere
While there are many different types of organizers out there, I’m personally loving the floating file drawer. They’re great because they allow you to store items without taking up any extra space. You can put pens, pencils, and notebooks in the drawer itself, or stack them inside the drawer so you can see them clearly. They’re also perfect if you’re someone who likes to write a lot and doesn’t want to take up too much room with a traditional filing cabinet.
Another option is the rolling file cabinet. These come in several different sizes, but the compact ones are ideal if you only have a tiny desk. They’re also easy to move around the house should you need to make adjustments due to furniture arrangements.
Lastly, the magnetic storage tray is another great choice for organizing your desktop. They can hold files, binders, papers, and so much more, and they can be placed on your desk surface or against the wall. Depending on the size of your desk, you can either leave them hanging down or tuck them under your desk so they don’t block any usable space.
There Are Plenty Of Options
Once you know what type of desk organizer you want, you can start shopping for it. Many office supply retailers offer free shipping, so you can shop around until you find something that works for you. Keep in mind that you should be able to put this organizer on your desk for no more than $50 per year. That means if you buy a good quality rolling file cabinet for $100, you could get a couple years’ worth of use out of it before you need to replace it.
The people need to be really careful in planning to do the office desk décor. He can make the proper analysis and get the option that will prove to be fruitful one. A person can add the colors and the variety of the things in the office that will lead to improvement in the look.
If you’re really into organization, you may want to invest in a few organizers to mix things up. For instance, if you have the space for two rolling file cabinets, you can add a second one next to it for an instant twin set.
